Roller-Coaster Happiness

AdamH

Roller-coaster happiness

The medallion of hope hanging high,
A dream of a trifled life;
But what is the fucking point?

The chasm of time feeds,
All for her gain.
With glass beams for lifelong dreams,
Shattering into eternal pain.

Singing the lyrics of life,
The sharpening of the kitchen knife;
The emergent portal of evil,
The growth of the young oak.

Contrasting hearts,
Causing this fight.
‘I’m tired’, answered with a empty:
‘Goodnight’;
The painful dying of light.
