Don't follow me

To my kids... Mike... Tiff and Cameron

Please do not follow in my footsteps, I took the wrong road...
I now carry the burden of such a heavy load..

I took away the life you knew of having a mom and dad...
Your father isn't there the way he should be and that makes me sad...

No more camping ,fishing trips or going to the shore...
Things that you kids use to adore...

People think just because I'm no longer part of his life...
They have the right to severe ties with you guys and throw away the knife....

You do not see or hear from people that should be there..
They are your relatives and should show you that they care...

Things don't come easy and nothing is ever free...
If you need an example take a look at me...

Don't run from your problems face them head on...
If you don't fix them everything can be gone ...

Sometimes you have to look deep inside...
To find the demons that like to hide....

Fight them and send them on their way...
Don't let them destroy another day...

You live by example and I tried my best...
Our home was not always a happy little nest...

The grass is not greener on the other side...
Life is a lesson and your along for the ride...

Trying to better myself I left you behind...
I lost who I was and was going out of my mind..

Stop and think before you act...
You can break the vicious cycle, and that's a fact...

Your the only one who can fix yourself I can not do it for you...
But I can be there and help see you through ...

Be a better wife, husband, mom or dad...
Don't look at the teachers that you had....

We never talked about what was wrong...
After being together for so long...

Your raising your own kids now ...
Sorry if you weren't taught how...

I did the best I could ...
Like any mother should...

Don't just do enough to make it by....
Life can be a blessings if you try...

Love you guys more than words can say...
Don't run, you fight and pray...
