I feel the chains that hold me back
Strained, vision's fading to black
Wavering, as I'm filled with dread
A fire kindles in my heart, I push ahead
Out of the corner of my eye, I manage to see
Beyond my challenges glows a light
As I continue to struggle to be free
Eyes fierce and determined, ready to carry on the fight
One by one, I watch my demons arise
They pull on my body, my hope their prize
Shaking them off, I stand firm and tall
Knowing only in my abyss can I fall
"Throw everything you can at me, for I will never be broken
Every once and a while I will fail, however, this war will never be done"
*I didn't really like that one at all so I'll just make another one here*
Alone
Is it truly worth wanting to belong?
If belonging just seems so wrong
It seems like no around me cares for my plight
This path I've chosen is now leading me through the night
I try to yell and scream
About my hopes and dreams
So why does it feel like no one is listening?
I try to shock the illusion we've so masterfully weaved
Bringing back the color, ripping away the gray
Struggling to show everyone the way
I try to spread the horrific truth, all the lies we never knew were there
Now I have a new most hated phrase and it is, "I don't care"

You're very talented, especially for your age. I love these lines ........
"One by one, I watch my demons arise
They pull on my body, my hope their prize
Shaking them off, I stand firm and tall
Knowing only in my abyss can I fall"
As you get older, I think your message will become clearer,
and your words will tighten up.
Keep writing, if only for the words themselves... they're worth it!
