Sick of It

poetboy5454

I'm tired of all the lies we've been taught

I'm sick of not wanting the battle to be fought

My heart is in my head and I'm ready

To open my eyes and finally be free

Tear off the curtains that block out the night

No more giving in, at least not without a fight

It's time to wake up, for it has been too long

Done with being weak, time to become strong

Time for the ugly truth to come out and rear its head

No more running away, we must face our nerve racking past

Embrace the pain, accept the feelings of dread

For if it makes you free it's worth being an outcast

This was never a battle to be won by one

There will be others who see as you do

Battle on through the night, till the rise of the sun

Travel past your limit, keep your heart true
