Chicago, Illinois and a friend

hella trash

(not sure if this is more a poem or a story sorry lol :^> hope u enjoy maybe p.s. based on both a dream and real life ig )

If you look high enough the buildings look monstrous enough to collapse down on top of you if you don't fall first.

To see through the fog clouds your mind.

A new kind of fog fills my head and swells my eyes.

Speeding underground going a million miles a minute just like my pulse.

Black eyes glow golden only under yellow street lamps.

Wet wind burns my face numb.

I can't feel anything.

He's different.

He's colder now.

With the drop of my eyelids the vision of an illuminated tunnel quickly fades into something warmer.

Soft brown eyelashes bat slowly and rest in the heat of licking flames.

I see the profile of someone i just hardly remember.

A beauty mark beneath his eye.

And a single dimple one on the same side of my face when we mirror each other.

He's so warm.

Orange fades to blue - the night sky.

My eyes and mind adjust to where we are.

Where i am.

Arm and arm and so distant.

Together sharing body heat but it's so cold.

I feel a soft burning in my chest but it's not the same kind i used to feel with him.

It feels as though my chest is deflating down on my lungs.

Suddenly i'm not me.

I don't know who i am.

Or who he is.

I recall his pale skin.

The short hairs that stray off of his straitened eyebrows.

Every soft brown eyelash that entwines with one another.

But i don't know him.

In an instant.

He's angry.

So cold.

The scene plays.

He's swinging me.

Its the last time.

And i slip back into consciousness in my halfway home in my little city about a billion miles away.

He's gone.
