Moving On

Giovanni

I'm haunted by our mem-ories

As I stroll through these empty streets

The good times that we used to share

Have gone - and do you even care?

The last few months I really tried

My best efforts just cast aside

My words were certain, set in stone

Your feelings vague and left unknown

My feelings strong and wouldn't quit

Your words were cheap and counterfeit

In vain to find your love I chased

But it had sunk without a trace

You loved me once, that much is true

I would have lived my life for you

The feelings that we once did share

Have gone away, turned to despair

And now I see your cruel betray'l

That icy truth behind your veil

A soul that I once held so dear

Allowed her love to disappear

Searched high and low for self respect

My ego bruised from your neglect

Took me some time to find my pride

That well of strength deep down inside

But now I see the light ahead

My tears for you have all been shed

And now it's time, I'm moving on

It's what you wanted all along

I once loved you but now I'm free

From all the hurt you caused for me

So this is it, I'm moving on

You're just a few lines in this song
