Like what it seems

marylaine

I leave people like I leave places, always searching for new faces
the first to go, nothing's left to touch my ego
Too much pride to confide in anyone deeper than the surface
Begging for more you can feel it in my eyes but before you leave drop my heart on the floor stomp on it some more, you can't give it back when I'm already out the door

I love the last line. Seems to suugest lots of optimism in what might otherwise be a somewhat beak view.
I like bleak as well though.
Most of my poems seem to end bleakl even those that don't start out that way, which most of them do.
Look forward to your next posting
