FORGET-ME-NOT

AmbiguousOdist

Notice of absence from AmbiguousOdist
If I'm not available it either means that I am indisposed conjuring up new works poetry or than I've taken a brief momentary break in order to regroup myself.

[Verse 1:]

Sooner or later it will be time to take my last breath, and when I do I would like to do it with a snarky grin upon my face. Also, I want to go with no regrets and no thoughts of wishing to turn back that dial and redo the life that I've written for myself let the hands of time portray me the way I it ought to instead of like it should. Let the Legacy that I leave behind be one that inspires those who I have encounter and befriended over the years.

 [Chorus:]

When I have shed my mortal coils, and left this world behind me,

I hope there are those who say;

That they remembered me laughing a whole lot more then I had shed tears -

I hope those who knew me can claim that I conquered all my fears and I coexisted in harmony with my demons -

I also anticipate they can recollect to all who ask,

That I lived loud and proudly

And was the utmost fun loving guy who knew how to liven up

any crowd wherever I went -

So, that way my memorable legacy lives on in all those who

actually, truly knew me -

Cum moriar, ne obliviscaris: memento mei semper et in saecula saeculorum -

[Verse 2:]

And whenever somebody asks about me just tell them I've gone on a long-extended vacation. With the exception of my soul it remains here with everyone especially those who knew me best. Or if they wonder who I am with just say I reacquainting myself with my long-lost beloved. And I am really hoping that there is more than just no one at the reading of my eulogy. Instead, I'm really hoping that there is a mass gathering of a few closely related individuals that I knew and lost touch with there at my funeral.

[Repeat Chorus]

[Verse 3:]

Oh, I know that time doesn't ever stand still or last forever for any one person. Cause in the blink of an eye life seems to pass you by especially if one doesn't take the time to slow down and enjoy the moment of sheer blissfulness life will pass them by just as it has done to me. It is only now that I have taken the time to slow down and look back, realizing all the precious moments I missed because I wasn't able to so down enjoy them. Although since time has become a precious commodity and for the first time in a long time I get to now enjoy the lingering memories of those precious moments and memories I missed because of my arrogance. Yeah, life is undoubtedly full of uncertainties and unexpected changes and there are times where it become extremely difficult and damn near impossible to continue living onward, this it's something I know very intimately as well. Just remember in the end when you're pushing up daisies that is the final stretch of the race but there is no turning back it is over and done and said and you are no more than two numbers and remembered only by that little dash in between those numbers.

[Repeat Chorus]

[Verse 4:]

Trust me when I say this on too many occasions I felt the arrow from Death's fatal quiver come so close it's actually grazed me and I've also felt the cold shiver of Death’s stranglehold as he tried asphyxiating the life from within me as well. But whenever the time does come to shed my mortal coils I know that there are only two dates that are carved in my headstone that will only hold significant importance to those who knew me better than most did. And to everybody else it will only mean, the day I was born and the day that I died and nothing more.

[Bridged Chorus:]
And whenever that day comes that I must and have to shed these mortal coils of mine, I do sincerely hope there is quite a few who knew me the best that will contest;
That I was a more of a giver then I was a receiver -
I was compassionate and kind-hearted rather than cruel and cynical -
I wasn't dependable on materialistic things but rather it was the simple things in life that meant the most to me -
That I let go of all the things the ones held me back and said a clinging tightly to unavoidable regrets of my past -
I never let the worst part of my life get the best of me that I was able to adapt improvise overcome almost any and all harrowing perilous trials tribulations that happened throughout my lifetime -
For this I pray will happen so that way my memorable Legacy lives onward in the hearts of those who knew me the best -
Cum moriar, ne obliviscaris: memento mei semper et in saecula saeculorum –

{For those who do not speak Latin I will translate what Cum moriar, ne obliviscaris: memento mei semper et in saecula saeculorum - means, it translation literally means: When I die, do not forget: remember me always, and unto the ages of the ages.}
