Flirtatious floating, loathsome scum,
You act as you've descended some,
But propagating water's wave,
Undauntedly, seems to behave
In manner such that though it swirls,
Distrust I each subsequent whirl,
For each that came and went before,
Through eons of this draining lore,
That I've observed,
That I've implored,
To take with them which I abhor,
Has firmly failed time after time,
Line after line,
Rhyme after rhyme,
It won't relent,
It will not drown,
And just like you, it won't go down.
I stand perplexed and watch in vain,
The act of circling the drain,
Just waiting for the flow to win,
To pull that damned annoyance in,
I bask in fear,
That time is near,
When it will surely disappear,
Leave me victorious,
Content.
Not so,
I'm growing close to spent.
Perhaps it's time that I admit
Defeat. Pretend it cannot fit,
Or trick myself some other way,
Make palatable my dismay,
I quit,
I turn the water off,
One slurp,
It's gone,
I stay,
I SCOFF!!!
