ice and embers

katherined

the flicker of her eyes
burning embers
greeting
shimmering ice
his glance of deceit

her adrenaline rush of new experience
shaky voice
jaggedly colliding with his
steady pulse
immune awareness

her naive hands
a leap of faith
timidly locked into his
calculated plan
callused palms

her sea of tears
gutted feeling
falling at the feet of his
utter indifference
complete disregard

  • Fay Slimm.

A sad but well written read Katherine.

  • Garry

Just like Fay said. I really enjoyed it. Didn't quite understand it but then I don't always understand my own poems and i enjoy them.
