UNFOLDED

down the rabbithole

I embrace myself and feel your arms around me

The endless ticking of the clock that heads into endless time
It can not end as we never owned a beginning

We simply unfolded like leaves in the rain
To drink each other in
To run in the storm
To be soaked to the skin with adrenaline

No cares
No rules to what we were doing
That was the beauty

I hold you now,

a beautiful balloon

fed on all our friendship

The string slips
And further away you fly
Then I stupidly realise

I have tied something to the string..

My heart

I like this one. No surprise there, so well written. I especially liked the last stanza and two lines. "The string slips............My heart." Heartstrings tied to a balloon, interesting concept and a great image. "We simply unfold like leaves in the rain," also a great image, and you seem to have used some of my favorite words, which is why I love your poem. Really, really, good this one. - Phil A.

Those are my two favourite parts of the poem too. Thank you for your lovely comment
