Standing upon the banks
By the river of flowing gold
My hands tied behind my back
I could only dip my toes
I was Searching for a dime to shine
In this land, on which I roam
searching for a place to stay
In this land, to call my own
Sitting beside the highway
Where the rats race by the times
feet stuck beneath the dirt
I could only thumb a ride
I was looking for a nickel to steel
In this land, on which I roam
Looking for a bed to rest
In this land, to call my own
From my soul
You mined my gold
In your arms
I found my home
