A Warrior's Tale

A warrior’s tale,
a true unwinding

in a soldier’s travesty
 
The moon stalks

his every move,
setting a dim wisdom

under a cover of doom
 
Pulling forward

through flails from the master,
comes the stealth through
which he must break
   
Every night and day

seems a routine
upon its very brink
 
An awaiting light

whispers close to him,
amending its broken spirit,
silencing the beckoning

to end his futile discord
 
Peace abundant

is a broken oasis,
seeking the praise

to trial his broken sanity
 
The dread of his inquisition

observes the total deception

of his intervention,
seeking to voice their injustices
over a finite liberation
 
The hot desert heat
dismays the reckoning to come,
to only delay the inevitable
 
My dear friend,
please come home,
for your family is here to greet
and embrace its broken warrior
under a sheer harmony of song
to wither away what was promised
