A Meeting

UncleShrew

I saw a gentle kindness in your smile but a raging fire in your eyes,

I heard the sweet promise of eternity escape your lips in a sigh,

Your silence spoke a thousand words, your speech a thousand more,

Then with your gaze, I felt my foundations crumble,

Then with your touch, I felt serenity,

Then with your laugh, I felt a singularity pulling all back together,

Then with your goodbye, I felt I knew what I must do.
