A Thought on Monday

AuburnScribbler

My impression of Magellan has to cease,

For my attention is now recalled,

No more wandering in my release,

Inner child has become appalled,

The weekend bliss that made me smile,

Though now my face much graver,

In mind, I plan more pleasant miles,

But now I am Monday’s slaver,

Sun hides behind a thick dark cloud,

Sucking more joy out of life,

But I have a duty that I have vowed,

To aid others in their strife,

So although the cold sleet does decant,

I cannot really complain,

As the warmth of help starts loving chant,

To rid away the rain.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem was written on one of those boring Mondays after such an exciting weekend, but this poetic thought has a hopeful outlook saying that "Mondays are not so bad really." Hope you enjoy.
