Summer's Eve

MeganElise0

In the light
Of Summer's Eve
The birds chirp
The grass grows
The love for you stays
But the love you had for me goes

The light soon fades
The dawn of Winter arrives
The darkness grows
The snow falls
I think about you every day

The whisper of my soul fades
My last breath falls
The green eyes you once admired
Close for the last time
The smile you always loved
Is now a silent frown

I write a letter
To you
But you will receive it
Too late
You know it's not your fault
But you still loved me
In a way no one else could

You leave her to get to me
You find me at that place
The place where the stars once shined
But we shined brighter
Where the heat rose
But we grew hotter

You find me alone
With the picture you took
Of you and I
The last one you had
The last one I saw...

In the light
Of Summer's Eve
