Anisoné

Izzi Lynn

I see you,
I see all your struggles,
all your hopes and dreams,
all your fears and all your nightmares,
all your good parts
and all your bad ones.

I see the validity of your feelings,
I know those feelings.
I won't ever feel them the exact same way you do,
but I know them just the same.

I understand your judgements
and I trust them,
I respect your opinions
just as you respect mine.

I know you.
I see you.
I understand you.

We're in this together,
and we're harmonious.
We're two halves of the same coin,
equal beings made up of the same things
and entirely different things at the same time.
I'll always have a piece of you with me,
and you'll always have a piece of me with you.

That's what anisoné means

  • Comment from author about the poem: My friend was having a hard day, and we live in different time zones right, so I can't see her face to face, and I wanted to comfort her and reassure her that she wasn't alone, but I just couldn't find the words to tell her how much she means to me and the sadness I feel when she's sad and how much I understand her, and I texted her that. She told me that if I couldn't find the words, to just make one up. And this is what I decided on.
