Night Breeze

Shahla Latifi

When the night breeze arises

To remove all traces of light

My heart sat deep in thought

When the moon covers the shallow end of my thoughts

A trembling hand of despair

Pulls me closer to the memory of lost love

On cloudy days when my worries are awake

I prefer to sleep in the arms of a quiet night

Calm and unafraid

In lonely moments of truth

With his memory lingering over my heart

My tremulous smile

My happy wishes

And the raw emotion that makes up the essence of my fruitful vine

Want to cry
