Stars

Giovanni

I gaze into the midnight sky
A vast and dazzling panorama
The stars shine down in all their glory
But I still wonder why I'm here

I've always felt a higher calling
But there are times I can't stop falling
I try to fly high with the birds
But struggle with my vision blurred

If only I could stop the clocks
I'd rule my mind and master time
They say that it can heal all pain
But things will never be the same

'Cause time will make fools of us all
And it won't ever be controlled
And I can't wish my life away
By chasing dreams lost yesterday

Insignificant is all I am
But I know I'm a lucky man
'Cause we were stars and we once flew
And you should know I'm a dreamer too
