An expression of my past
Chasing, it's catching up fast
The pain and the sorrow
Surrounding, nowhere to go
Confront or fall
Truth or lies
Trying to stall
Time to rise
Stepping back
Staring it down
The joy it lacks
Matched with a frown
Now circling around
Can't move or make a sound
Shooting arrows of memories
Piercing my heart falling to my knees
Rising everywhere, flooding my mind
Drowning me with what I wanted to find
Peace and solace, satisfied
Adrift on the tide
