Just An Octave Away

Just An Octave Away

I don’t know why I make words rhyme
I guess I try to keep my life in time
Maybe I can have each moment in sync
Well at least that’s what I think

Just an octave away

Tap, tap, bang bang
I heard your heart beat as it sang
Each note so pure and sweet
Your vibrato so simple complete

Just an octave away
The only thing I wanted was for you to stay
forever in my heart
I guess we shall call that the start

And all so quickly it’s 20 years
A symphony of life with a tear
When your happy it all goes so damn fast
but in our children this love will last

Just an octave away
I asked you to stay
Just an octave away
We made tomorrow today
Just an octave away

Thre perfect song has but one note . Such cannot be said of a perfect poem . Like brushstrokes to the canvas , fingers on the clay , words can make music in our memories that are here to stay .
