When We Were Young

Ternic73

When we were young we didn't care
Our thoughts and dreams, we did share
So many unanswered questions in our minds
Looking for answers we could not find
Then we grew up and went our own ways
I sit here, look back and remember the good old days
We were so young with not a care in the world

When we were young, we never said what we feel
Often wondered would it be real
I was often afraid to say what I thought
My anxieties made me overwrought
I wasn't as pretty or thin as the other girls
Hence I stayed in my own little world
Last one to picked for a team
Gave up being the pretty girl dreams

When we were young I wanted to grow up
Then I could show the world what I'm made of
So many times I look back at those days
Where big hair was all the craze.
Would I have fit in, if I played the game
Just wanted to be included, didn't want fame

When we were young I didn't know where my life would go
Parts went fast, others went slow
All grown up and sometimes feel alone
So many times I want to pick up the phone
Wonder where you are and what your life is like
Would you feel anything for me or tell me to take a hike
So many thoughts run through my mind
Now its time for me to unwind
I remember the days when we were young
All my friends it was so much fun

Nice. Youth is wasted on the young.

Makes perfect since! I really relate about looking back on friends and wondering where there are, who they are. 🙂

    What is the poem about?

    • Ternic73

This is about me remembering the old days of my life, and thinking of my friends etc.
