You Deserve Better

Papi Y

You're my ace of clubs to the mile high club
But we got lost in the turbulence
In my mind while I'm running, you're the endurance to my cardio
If love is the destination, for you I run a marathon
It distressed me every time I made you cry, I'm just a moron
Tonight I made it worse by calling you
I understand, I need to give you time to find yourself, take all the time you need
I'll be here like Ross waiting for his fourth marriage, it's not guaranteed
See, I've done a lot of things, but this by far is the worst, I'm in need of your wings
And when I tell you I love you, you don't believe me
I know you don't feel it every time tears run down your cheek
I'm sorry
I know I've been so indelicate while disregarding your feelings
Like telling you I don't care, why am I so negligent
Seeing a smile after tears dry
Hold onto it, Melissa, hold onto it

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place
The biggest lie one can say is that everything is fine, what a disgrace
You don't know the value of what you have until it's gone
In my case I have a pond and one duck in it
I said things that weren't need to be said
I broke your heart a myriad of times and you were my scapegoat
Been writing you too many letters, this is my eighth note
Its been a while, I'm no longer 16, but I still love you
I did a lot of deplorable things, but If I told you I love you, would you love me the same
You deserve someone better than me, if you say I hate you, I'm the one to blame
You're doing fine and I'm pretending
Your name is all over my poetry book, please don't tell me this is the ending
I broke your heart and now mine is need of...mending
