A Worldly Crown

Gino

A pastel of elements

gather our post-parting reunion,

...On that same old courtyard

we waltzed

and tended our first kiss

A collage of pictures and sorrows

paste over my bedroom desires,

...Descending upon me daily

haunting me into an eternal evening wake

For you’ve brought home with you,

Those ill-desires

on the thistles and thorns

that followed your unguarded steps

Still missing is your smile

from that frail promise of yesterday,

...Masquerading for today on a faint alibi

beneath blighted filled-archways

in a plight of hopelessness

Your height is way above

the noble crown,

...Yet, you still resist my call,

For you won't hear my voice

in an absence of humility

that blinds your unguided steps

I am still waiting for you,

...So please don't endeavor anymore

on a worldly crown

that won't bring you home

So have heart, my dear,

And I'll walk you home through an easier way,

For I'll be your eyes,

and stand by you in places you can't see

if only you would turn and see

Don't decease your love, my one,

For I am real and my promises will make you feel,

...Only if it's not too late

Don't half-heart, my love,

For all I want is to understand

if you have more to say,

Or good luck, and just want to begin your way

In time, I know

that we can still do things right,

...If truly you would only turn

and call this place your home
