We laughed together
And as we sat down, we could still hear the echoes
Of that superimposed sounds of giggles we made
Which slowly propagated through the empty space
Muffled by the air, diminishing with every centimeter
Until suddenly it choked, somewhere midway
Between us and where it was supposed to go
And we both knew that the stifled laughter
Was a perfect metaphor of us
But we still let out grins, as nervous as they might have seemed
While we held each other
With hands, as shaky, palms as sweaty
As they might have been
How painful it is, when you are a part
Of something ecstatic, something beautiful
But temporary
While at the same time, you feel at home
Its probably rare to feel that way
Feel pain in pleasure that’ll wilt away
But that’s often the way it goes
Bitter-sweet comes with a whole package
So might as well, while it lasts, enjoy it
And more laughter ensued, sometimes hysterical
But still when none made it till the end
It was alright though, we had made amends
That good things are short-lived, and so special, thereby
Euphoric and ephermal, like you and I
