Don't Let These Scars Fade

poetboy123

Ashes remain of the massacre of our freedom

Locked in a cage, to our captivity we're now numb

I'm growing restless, itching to draw my blade

Memories captured, don't let these scars fade

Fury rising from the depths of my weakness

Struggling to stay lit surrounded by bleakness

Duty shining past my limitations and fears

Pushing to find some wisdom beyond my years

Time's passages has left us with apathy

Feel deep in your heart, the need to be free

So tear off your chains with a roar in the night

Step into the dark to bring back the light

An age of lies and war stands against you

Liberty or safety? To which will you remain true?

To peace and love, we must pass war and hate

Stand for your own, leave nothing to fate

The truth and their plot lies under the shade

Thanks to them, these scars shall never fade
