The Toll (+2)

Kurt Philip Behm

I lived inside my timeframe,

did you live inside of yours

I lived outside my timeframe,

did you live outside of yours

“I carried things from now till then,

a toll I humbly paid

Across a bridge where time had stopped,

—the truth to pass each way”

(Villanova Pennsylvania: May, 2017)

The Simplest Of Words

I could package it different,

I could present it complex,

—I could try to impress and deceive

But the message eternal,

and the one truly spoken,

—needs the simplest of words to conceive

(Villanova Pennsylvania: May, 2017)

    Armageddon

Our heads so deeply in the sand,

we thought it wouldn’t come

And would never heed its warnings,

our denial zero-sum

The result of our inaction,

this swamp we dwell within

The wolf now shed of Grandma’s robe,

—Armageddon to begin

(Villanova Pennsylvania: May, 2017)
