Turning on Purple

Poetae Opus

On the silence,

My heart is shouting;

Perhaps a new inspiration is,

A new picture,

Of my existence;

I'm still desiring,

A new sword,

To make my Fate,

But I still need to know when,

Should I throw my golden seeds;

I won't create,

Angels of plastic,

Anymore;

The voice that surrounds my body,

Doesn't make any difference,

Between Beauty and Spirit;

The blood that makes,

My soul dancing,

Does not create a barrier,

Between the gods and the poets;

Just an illusion can get me,

A unique style,

To waste it,

Among the herd,

But my eyes are still smiling,

For now I know that,

Everyone is able,

To find their way,

And yet to see changes,

Across from them;

So now on,

The wisdom is singing,

Among the flowers.

    Dante, I notice the word "sword" is a reoccurring motif in several of your poems. My own faith tradition uses a lot of the sword in the Old but replaces it with a "love thy neighbor" command in the New. In practice, as a race of men, we've never stopped using the 'sword' against one another. What is the meaning of the 'sword' in your poetry?

      I let many of my verses go. Then, when I read them again I start to see what is their meaning. Trying to answer your question, I believe that "sword" means some kind of responsibility I'm willing to fulfill, and it will change me and the world around me. I also think it's a very powerful destiny I'm able to do. There's nothing to be with violence.

        Thanks! Indeed what you describe as the source and inspiration of your poetry sounds a lot like what a prophetic, mystical writer would tap into. I saw the technical term for this "spiritual 6th sense" if you will, the other day in the Poet's Glossary by Hirsh but darn it if it hasn't already escaped me. For me, it's a prayer and a leap of faith that the Holy Spirit will use me as an instrument. If the poem bears good fruit, I'm that much more convinced that I'm writing according to the will of God rather than my own will.

          I believe that being honest with oneself is the first way to undestand what God wants from us. Thanks for your comments.
