Echoe Deep Swallows

Edthepoet

Foraging through
The black forest
For sugar leaves
Double back
Across the land
Leave no prints
Striking flint
begins
an orange glow
Come now
get some rest
Before you go

The tongues tip
Where our love lives
Has made its home
Behind your sweet lisp
Echoe deep swallows

I was only here
To help you cross
Broken bridge
Above smoke pond
Along golden ridge
Beyond The fog
I was only here
To help you cross
Where silver frost
Meets green envied moss

The flow and mystery encased in this absorbing verse gives such a boost of atmosphere to its read. Poetic fantasy at its very best Ed.

I'm really happy you enjoyed this poem Fay, your feedback is awesome. It's the starting point of a short story told in poem, so far I have 3 parts written & no idea where the story will go.
