Beneath Orange Glow

Edthepoet

Watcher of my
Sleepless nights
Ice pick gripped
Keeper of my
Hopeless fright
You never flinched
I was only meant
To stay a while
Through the wild winds
You was only meant
To be so kind
Those looks decieve
I didn't think
You'd take the time
To let me in

Broken bridge
Nearly fixed
Along golden ridge
Smokey ponds
To hot to swim
Though our feet
We dipped
What I'd give
To Swim beneath
The settled ash
Stealing kisses
In the deep
To make breath last

Green envy moss
Hugs my toes
Silver frost has
My heels froze
Treasure
I've been carrying
Since the dawn of time
Seems insignificant
In comparison
To you left behind

For we did love
In the winter morning
For we did love
Though it never spoke
For we did love
And now I'm mourning
For we did love
Beneath Orange Glow
