Inflicted

Baylee

The feeling of

fresh bed sheets

their smell of fair flowers

and clean cotton

closes around you

You pull them up to your nose

and smile,

warm under their security

But even they

cannot protect you

from his apathy;

cannot soften the sting of scathing words

inflicted by the one

you love most.

    Love? Prelude to "leave". Scathing words are abusive. Decision time. Hugs.

    Strong, suffocating, pain, and hurting for affection. My hearts full of hope for you my dear. Stay strong and know. Good bye is a small leap from hello.
