Do Over

The Invisible

What shall I do when I feel for one yet think of another

To hate the one they say call birth mother

Don’t try and figure me out

That is what causes some to doubt

Never knowing what’s inside my head

And yet saying they hear the words I said

I can’t fight that old shadow from the past

Nor will I make a promise that won’t last

There’s not many things I can control

                            Having played the victim role

Yet one thing I can’t ever forget no matter how hard I try

Was when I smiled more than I cried.
