Crossing Fields

J.D. Treick

Be bold.

Never small.

Be strong,

Stand tall!

Burn with the fire that we were meant to rage.

Escaping from our mental cage.

In return for our grief and sorrows abound,

only we hold the keys that lock us and ground.

Take hold.

Never drown beneath the fall.

Grasp the vines that wrap us tightly.

Tearing away from all of the things,

that hold us in place, and bring us no peace.
