*********

Almighty God and eternal

Come help us, lest  we fall

Sanctify, govern here our hearts

That we shall not depart

Sanctify too our bodies, souls

And spirits, make us whole

Keep us in the ways of your laws

That your will be our cause

Keep too us here in your commands

The righteous, true demands

That protected by you we be

Forgiven by you, made free

And so we pray you us preserve

That we your strength conserve

To serve you body, spirit, soul

Through Jesus, who saves sole

I see your writings as prayers I can read daily for comfort. Hugs.

Thanks A. This occasional 'series' is based on formal set prayers in a church book. Glad they are a comfort, in the sense of 'solace' and the old (not too old? heehee) sense of 'strengthen'. Yet some might be from the 17th Century. I was around then of course. Was you?! Ye Olde Days, thee and thou, and all that jazz!

Another uplifting supplication of faith . Indeed santify is a word used too infrequently but so necessary to believers .
