Dying alone

Dodger312

A cold body I've developed
Against a cold bed
My eyes tearing of anticipation and fear
My air is finally not wanting to come in but forcing itself out
My hands sweating, grabbing and pulling the sheets
My chest filled with pain
My heart the source of it
Death is not causing this suffering
Death is not the blame
But dying alone is
With no one on my side
My love ones have disappeared
As my eyes start closing
My hand finally releasing, opening and with no one there to hold it to release me onto death
