The People Had Grown Unruly

poetboy123

At a time when war ravaged the land

False leaders spewing corrupt lies

Puppets controlled by Greed's hand

But the people grew unruly and let out a cry

With an unquenchable thirst for freedom

Marching past all obstacles they come

Filled with youth and set upon a new age

And the people grew unruly with rage

Lived their lives like sheep in a pen

Tearing their way out of their cage

If they fell, they were ready to fall again

For the people grew unruly and were ready to turn the page

A lion's ferocity had awoken within them somewhere deep inside

No longer burdened with a faded dream, their hearts their sole guide

Truth now a loaded gun and Hope now the dream beyond the sunset

Now the people grew unruly and set off leaving no regrets

Artists to paint a future where all would reside in peace

Banishing the traitors, lest they make it fall to pieces

Authors to write a new chapter, a second chance

Taking the hands of their words to begin the dance
