Sitting cross-legged—
Lotus—
In the pool,
The water lapping at your toes
As they broke the surface—
My own contortions weren't half
As beautiful.
I remember.
Can you teach me to forget?

This is beautiful. I'm looking for more of your posts.
Thanks, Heather! That means a lot. As Keats said, "Beauty is truth, truth beauty--that is all." And I definitely try to put truth in my work, so it's reassuring to know that they attain some measure of beauty as well! I'll be sure to endeavor to post more!
The human being in all it's dignity is a great subject matter for poetry. Awesome!
Absolutely! As Pope said, "Know then thyself, presume not God to scan / The proper study of mankind is man." (With some caveats) I tend to agree with him and with what that statement implies, both good and ill! I appreciate the feedback, thanks!
