The Tainted Path

poetboy123

Knocking down everyone left in your way

Putting your foot down and it's meant to stay

Doesn't matter who you shove to the ground

They lay there helpless, unable to make a sound

Upon the fallen bodies, you begin to climb

A sole desire burning out a path to follow

Broken pieces lay behind you for all time

Your fragile hope continues as you go

A fractured dream left to be fulfilled

Haunted children with whom fury you've instilled

Given them a reason, given them a fear

Brushing past them to reach the sun, not shedding a tear

With bloodstained hands, you end the war

As broken peoples come and fall to you asking what for

A chilled smile in response to the lives you tore

Everything you sacrificed, can't take it anymore

Lost yourself to find a way to stop the darkness

Without you it's reign would have been endless

So does that make your blood worth less?

Your name, villains redemption, or heroes unrest
