Kronos and Zeus

jlhammonds2

Before the nightfall

Creation lowly sings a tune

Kronos moves in wrath

An eternal chase

For Zeus' celestial throne

He'll never regain

Thunder crash echoes

As Zeus enters darkened mist

His spears rip the veil

Kronos enters in

The dark mist to battle Zeus

Earth's tears start to flow

The Earth below quakes

A violent battle above

Warm wind whips in fear

As dawn makes her way

The Mediator appears

The battle ceases

The world now looks grey

Mourning their ages old war

Her tears still flowing

Yet I wait for dusk

For their advent in heaven

Who will be victor?

Infinite Heavens

Endless stories to be told

Your revelations

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is me describing a scene that I saw in last night's sky while I was driving up the mountain on the way home from work. Jupiter (Zeus) and Saturn (Kronos) were both visible as the sun inched over the horizon; but a thunderstorm begin to engulf the night sky. The scenery was breathtaking and Nature just seemed to write this poem itself.
