I fear the night

PrincessDyott

Baby I fear the night

Because the nights best friend is a painful goodbye

And I've never liked goodbyes to say the least

Especially when someone like you can sweep me off my feet

You know the things to say and the places to hold me

You know how to make me laugh and how to keep me quiet

And the way your skin feels on mine oh my god is it one hell of a ride

And after good bye I feel like I lost something

Like a remote with no batteries

So when I get back to the house drained and in desperate need of who you'll always be

I don't want to close my eyes and let the clock tick forward

Because my time here is candy and my sweet tooth's been crazy

But without my batteries what fun is that

I know tomorrow morning you'll light me up I'll be like new again

We can play and we can laugh and we can let our worries leak like a tire with a nail in it

I'll keep driving as long as you keep me company and we can ride on the rims for all I care

With the sun in our eyes and the wind in my hair this road goes on as far as I can see

And
Nothing
Is better
Than
You
Here
With
Me

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a poem I wrote while my husband was home for 10 days. I spent days and nights thinking about when he would leave and how much it could hurt and how I didn't want to fall asleep because time would pass and even though he was next to me already sleeping I stayed up all night so time would drag by.
