A Thousand Words

Punisher

It’s said a picture’s worth a thousand words.

Who could argue such a whim?

Though, I would need a library of work

if to describe your beauty, I should begin.

Had I enough paintings

to decorate the world

and enough time to translate each stroke

into words to describe my girl,

you could climb those pages to the stars

and halfway back again.

Yet that would only be the forward to the book

where a description of your beauty lay within.

If Picasso toiled a thousand lifetimes

and painted a thousand every year,

he would fall as short as I

in capturing your beauty, I fear.

All I can do is let words flow

as time moves slowly on,

praying the Lord grants me eternity

and you to look upon.
