Scars

MelanieA

You know who I am and what I've been through.
You know me like an author knows his own book.
You know what I've done to myself.
You kissed the scars on my wrist.
The thing I wonder now is if you'll kiss the others too.
You kissed the noticeable ones.
The ones that are almost faded away.
But one day will you kiss the others too?
Will they know the love you have for the others?
Will they know that you love every single one of them?
Will they know that no matter how bad they are you think they're beautiful?
Will they know that they are accepted and don't have to be hidden?
I hope that one day they know your love.
I hope that they know your compassion.
One day they will know what they mean to you.

A fine tribute to the love, acceptance, and compassion we all seek, and the fortunate find in true love. Well done, Melaniea!
