We came for the laughter
So Show me
Where It's at
We came for the dancers
So show me
Where there sat
Show me to the ones
Who'll sing me sweet sweet songs
Show me to the ones
Who'll right my wrongs
No thank you mister
There's no making do
No thank you sister
That's not my groove
Show me to the music
And I'll show you
The real you
When the drum
stops thumping
And the bass
stops dropping
When the blues
Stop chilling
And the beat
Stops killing
Baby that's our cue
So Runaway train
Keep running
Onto the next town
Runaway train
Keep running
To where it's going down
Runaway train
Keep running
Onto that fresh sound
Runaway train
Keep running
Until we hit the ground.

Ed, I really like your poem. It is very well written. You seem to be a passenger on this runaway train. How about getting into the driver's cabin and taking over?
Cheers Fred, I am the train 😀
Really enjoyed this poem, well written too
Nice one Shannon 🙂
I was thinking the same thing regarding this poem becoming a song. Do you sing/play an instrument?
I write songs for singers & bands. I have a few up on YouTube 🙂
That's pretty neat
You girls were right, it works as a song, so I come up with a 2nd verse 🙂
We came to go faster
So show me
You can last
We came for the chancers
So show me
Where there sat
Show me to the ones
Who'll swing and miss us
Show me to the ones
Who'll take us on
When the lights
Stop shaking
And the bar
Stops rocking
Baby thats our cue
When the roof
Stops lifting
And the street
Stops swinging
Baby its time to move
So Runaway train
Keep running
Onto the next town
Runaway train
Keep running
To where it's going down
Runaway train
Keep running
Onto that fresh sound
Runaway train
Keep running
Until we hit the ground.
