My Pledge of Allegiance to Us

Mr. Lamar Ingraham

This is one of the hardest things to tell you,
I thought vulnerability was a way to see I've fail you;
But you've been more than selfless the whole time,
Feeling unappreciated and still fighting for the love of mine;
I'm digging how we used to kiss like every time was the last,
When I'd whispered sweet nothings when you walked pass;
Lately, I've got the nerve to look you in the eye and swear,
Talking to me goes in one ear and out the other is not fair;
Back we started I would do anything to just take you out,
Now, broke a heart acting like I don't know what it's about,
I had to go to the deepest part within being your king,
No need for God to send a dude to treat you as his queen;
It's quite the leap of faith back to where we once were,
Where I first admitted I was in love and you said you were,
Only good girl who never gave me some, but gives her all,
The Lord blessed us with a love so that I can't let you fall.

Baby, smile with faith,
Because I'm your next testimony,
I pledge allegiance to us...
Although hearts may break,
I married you in Holy matrimony,
I pledge allegiance to us...
