Where does she wake

chris frank

Time moves slowly, endless drifting,
Her smile shows more than any words.
His arms they hold her, she lies there dreaming
Her life, her cares, her future sleep

They kiss goodbye, their hands they fit ,

She walks back to her life alone.
He lies there thinking, his mind in flight
Breathing in her departed soul

The night it drifts, the walls move in,
They wake apart but no one knows.
She knows he waits, he knows she's close
But something keeps it all a show

Early sunshine, the cool breeze rises,
Neither alone they are both apart.
He talks to much, she cannot listen,
He knows his mind goes to far, far to fast

The path she wants is fraught with danger,
Her love it comes without a price.
His words they promise much, do they deliver,
Will he keep her dreaming still.

She laughs again, the two they meet,
In his eyes she sees her peace.
Beautiful, soft, her body rises,
Their lives, their dreams, their perfect sleep

Chris, this is beautifully written. I love it. "Neither alone they are both apart" is something that could be said about a lot of people. We are together, but at the same time we are not....and we have to find together again.
