Memories of you

Saye mkandawire

I see flashbacks, flashbacks of us, you and I, the friendship we had, and how much we cared for each other hoping that this friendship will never end. We laughed, laughed at those corny jokes that only you and I could understand the punch line, laughed at the people who couldn't understand the relationship we shared. We talked, talked about the future and what it had in store for us, talked about our heart aches and the struggles we faced as teenagers, talked about how important we are to each other. We fought, fought because I wanted more than just friends, and you just needed a shoulder you can always cry on, fought for a friendship that was fading away, fought for something we both knew was already gone. Now I just see you and the memory of what once was, the dreams we shared, the good times we had. I remember the whispers of the 3 major words we once spoke to each other making sure we both knew how we felt each and everyday, but now there's no more us and I just hold the memories of you.
