Dare To Dream

Edthepoet

I use to dream of romancing
An African beauty queen
I'd impersonate a robot
She'd tilt her head intrigued
We'd kiss under the moonlight
She'd give me the key
The congo bay band
Would rock
The sand beneath our feet
If ever a moment was perfect
This would be hard to beat

Like a thief in the night
Id walk out of sight
Will She run after me

I use to dream of partying
On the Vatican debree
I'd obliterate the dogma
Give reason room to breathe
We'd swing beneath the night sky
Singing songs of peace
The activists hands
Would pump
Peace signs and victory
If ever a moment was worth it
This would be hard to beat

Like a hostage on a high
After the gun fight
We're finally set free

Look a little closer
It's not hard to see
The years are rolling over
My reasons to believe
Look a little closer
It's not hard to see
That's not what become of me
...but I still dare to dream.

keep on dreaming, my friend, they are full of everything you need to know if you catch them right. I am constantly dreaming or meditating on the poetry I wish I could write. you have done this brilliantly and I'm really happy for you after writing such a beauty of a poem x
