The Whispers

SheWasTheSun

Beauty, go on and have your fun

And let the whispers think they’ve won

Don’t you dare try to run

For whispers are whispers and you are the sun

Whispers are whispers, broken words

Living on, though barely heard

Amidst the senseless noise of life

A villain whose sole weapon is fright

Whispers are whispers, they lie and they cheat

They’re the broken hearts of those who weep

The whispers can’t hurt you, unless you listen

But if you do, how their shattered hearts glisten

Your pain, it fills them and makes them feel real

They feed on your doubts like a five-course meal

But the worst thing for you is to try and fight it

For the whispers know just how it feels when you hide it

The whispers are whispers, and they have their tricks

But let me let you in on a little secret

They are startling sounds, this much is true

But the whispers are whispers, and they have nothing on you

So, instead keep gleaming on alongside them

Beauty, try your hardest to simply outshine them

The whispers are something you just can’t shun

But whispers are whispers, and you are the sun

I know those whispers, they try to outshine us every moment of our life. I call them ego. I try not to listen to them. Beautiful poem. Lovely written. Thanks
