No longer able to swim

sr2017

The moods come in,

the ocean kisses the shaw,

moving in and out,

back and fore,

it's handed to me... given to me,

harsh and kind,

I'm drowning in it,

swimming in it most of the time,

I feel far too young,

but mental health has no age,

it was given to me,

handed to me,

now im in a rage,

I'm drowning in it,

not swimming in it,

drowning in it,

I've almost taken up the entire page,

my head below water,

i stop refusing to sink,

i fall down... down down,

to be with my sins,

I am now completely drowning in it... no longer able to swim.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sometimes it's ok to admit your head isn't above water. We all have to start somewhere right? Allow rock bottom to be a starting point, no matter how far down we feel, we can all win :)

I do like your writing. Your poem epitomizes the struggles we all go through. At least that is how I see it.
