Asphyxiated.

niallprideaux

Don't hold your breath for anyone,

Don't wish your ribcage be locked without cradling it,

It may delay the decay but eventually

the cracks will spread through it.

Sometimes, to keep yourself together

you have to walk away.

Even heartbreak can be the only key

to unlock your chest and breathe again.

A tough but eloquent write. And it's truth shines.

I might have said: If you gotta go you gotta go. But you said it so much more eloquent. Great poem!
